A slurry seal is a mixture of asphalt emulsion, sand, cement, and water. When the slurry is first applied, it is recommended that cars avoid driving on the portion sealed for three hours to allow for proper curing.
In addition to notices placed at a resident's home, signage will be placed on the street before starting the project the day before. All cars must be off the road receiving the treatment by 7 a.m. the day of the sealing. Vehicles not removed will be towed at the owner's expense.
What to Know:
One-half of your street will be closed to traffic for the application of slurry seal.
Please have your car off the street by 7:00 a.m. on the day(s) of your street's application.
After the slurry is placed on the street DO NOT DRIVE on it until the cones or barricades have been picked up.
After one hour you may roll straight across the fresh slurry seal IF NECESSARY. (Need to back out your driveway, for example.)
If you get slurry seal on your driveway or vehicle, use a waterless hand cleaner such as "Goop" or Go-Jo (no pumice) for removal.
Please have your trash container on the street by 6:00 a.m. if pickup is scheduled for the same day.
If rain occurs on the same day as the posted day of sealing, the work will be done the next working morning.
