Local Elections



 The time for filing as a 2020 Local Election Candidate, other than as a write-in candidate, has now passed. The following information is provided for general knowledge of the process.

The CANDIDATE INFORMATION sheet includes information for the 2020 Local Election. An individual is able to run as a write-in candidate by filing a Write-In Candidate Nomination Paper and Financial Disclosure Statement (available under Forms and Information) by June 25, 2020.



Voter Registration



Voters may register to vote online. Hard copy voter registration forms may be obtained by contacting the Town Clerk's Office or at the Maricopa County Recorder's offices during regular business hours.

Registration Deadlines



May 19, 2020 Special Election DEADLINE HAS PASSED
August 4, 2020 Primary Election July 6, 2020
November 3, 2020 General Election October 5, 2020

Voter Eligibility Requirements



Qualified electors must register prior to midnight 29-days preceding the date of the election. An individual is eligible to register to vote as provided in state law:  ARIZ. REV. STAT. §9-822,  
ARIZ. REV. STAT. §16-101 and ARIZ. REV. STAT. §16-121 and Town Code, Chapter 2, Section 2-9-1.

Voters may verify the status of their voted early ballot and that it has been received by Maricopa County Elections for processing and tabulation through the Arizona Secretary of State's office website or on the Maricopa County Recorder's Election website.

Voters may verify the status of their provisional ballots through the Maricopa County Recorder's Election website.

 The Maricopa County Recorder / Elections Office is currently closed for walk-in traffic due to the COVID-19; however, they are available by contacting them at 602.506.3535, or visit maricopa.vote.
