Fountain Hills Parks Overseeding

In preparation for overseeding of Fountain Park and the Avenue of the Fountains Plaza, the irrigation has been shut off and will remain off until the seed has been thrown, between the first and third week of October.  Prior to seeding  the Bermuda grass will slowly go from green to golden brown and the turf will be scalped to a height of 3/4 inch in preparation for the seed to be applied.  Grass will germinate in 7-10 days and the first mowing will be 3-4 weeks after seeding. During this time, we ask all park users to remain on sidewalks and non-grass areas. Overseeded areas will be extremely wet as irrigation schedules will be more frequent. We look forward to re-opening the grass areas in early November.
